Woo hoo! Gardner Quality tag
« on: June 22, 2018, 05:25:52 AM »
I must be living right as I drew my first quality deer tag, in Gardner.  I've got a cabin near Wolf Creek, so I'm already pretty familiar with some, but not all, the Gardner unit.  My favorite parts of it burned up a few years back.  I'm also all too familiar with the decline in the deer population in the area and the growing proportion of whitetails instead of mulies.  That being said, every year in November I get some great buck pictures on my backyard trail cam.  Unfortunately, I can't hunt them there and wouldn't shoot a backyard buck even if I could.

It would be great to hear from previous and other current tag holders to compare notes.  I've never hunted it in November and would welcome any advice.  Thanks!

Congrats! I love that unit, lots of bucks to see if you’re willing to hike!
