I don't think Maxus is made in a 20 gauge.

A Browning Silver or Gold Hunter would be (is!) my choice.
Fit is more important than what somebody on a forum thinks, unless it won't run, which you were lucky to discover here.
I trust gas operating systems way more than inertia.

Gold Hunter is 10 gauge only now, Silver looks good, and is available in 20, Maxus is rated better then both. BUT has its own problems. Beretta A400 has its own problems as does the Remington Versa Max.
Benelli SBE lll is rated very well and says the "click" is cured. I have no use for 3.5 inch shells in a 12. I liked the looks of the SBE lll in Walnut and Blue but can't seem to find a store that stocks them.
Frustrating.   any help??

I don't have a maxus but I do have a Gold hunter, it's a great shotgun, I think you can't go wrong with a Browning.

I have a Monte in 12. It is my go to gun. Shoot it for everything. Sporting clays, skeet, upland, duck and goose. Love this gun. Have many other shotguns to choose from but always go back to the Monte.

As far as the “click” goes, yes it will do it, if you over oil it.

Key is to clean it, oil it, then wipe all oil away with a dry cloth. I have never had it malfunction, even in extreme cold, if I just follow this simple rule.

I've been bird hunting with a 12ga Benelli Ultra Light for the last ten years or so..  Have never experienced the so-called "Benelli click".  It's clean, reliable, and light.  I clean it once a year...maybe.  Wonderful shotgun :twocents:

I’ve ran right at 4,000 rounds through by Benelli Legacy 12. Never had a misfire, click or anything else described within this thread.
