Dayton unit elk guides. Need some info
« on: July 16, 2018, 11:03:59 AM »
So I know exactly zero about guide operations and even less about elk guide operations and even less about elk guides in washington :chuckle:  old friend of mine and his uncle pulled Dayton rifle tags for October after 19 years of applying.  With age comes wisdom and they have realized that an outfitter may be the smart play down there in order to obtain the experience they would like to get out of the hunt after a 2 decade soak.

So if anyone has any experiences or info (good or bad) let's here it.  Thank you in advance

I don’t think there are any outfitters with permits to guide on National Forest land in the Dayton unit. There’s been some issues with this in the past with raffle and governor tag holders. I think a few have been able to get conditional permits but I can’t remember for sure.
