I have zero knowledge about this truck and motor combo. Yay or nay? Pros? Cons? Good or bad experiences? Any and all advice welcome

Great motor, lasts a long long time as long as you perform routine maintenance and change the timing belt at 100k miles.

My buddy finally traded his in with close to 300,000 on it and he said he never changed a fluid besides oil changes.

mine has been great! @Woodchuck did the belt change and waterpump at 100,000 for me. Tough, reliable, but they have a drinking problem like all toyota motors  :chuckle:

Had a 2000 and sold it with 225K. Never had an issue, very reliable truck. As said earlier, piss poor gas milage but most gas trucks do
