B.C. moose outfitter ?
« on: August 01, 2018, 06:08:28 PM »
Raffles came back with a big 0. Looking to book a moose trip for next fall. Anyone used any good outfitters in B.C.? I know there is a member on here that offers hunts but I want to some homework on as many outfits as possible before I commit.

Ambush outfitters, Shane is a sponsor here and my family has done a few trips with him throughout the years. Great food, Great moose country, and Great guides. Lots of bears up there is you go early to mid September and all the grouse you can stand to shoot.

Start with https://www.goabc.org/ Guided Outfitter Association BC. Sonny's has been my friends (more than one) go to guy for moose in BC. Thy are not well liked by the average BC hunters who buy OTC and apply for special permits, GOABC get better tags than the average person.  :twocents:

Probably cheaper than a good fully guided Canada hunt.

Give Rainbow Mountain outifitters a call. He is a personal friend of mine. They run a horseback hunt with high success. Check out his page to see what they average for the size of moose. I will post a link to my hunt. This maybe the extreme upper end of what is in this area. And I agree with what you said about Alaska. This hunt was cheaper guided than my DIY hunt for moose in Alaska. The bulls in Alaska are substantially bigger. PM if you have questions on either hunt.

Another option would be Brian Glaicar with Monashee Outfitting. My buddy Jeff cant say enough good things about the guy and his service. Been hunting with him many times, multiple species.
