Team Joe get's it done! Rimrock quality elk rifle, first day, first light and on the ground within 30 minutes. I had the honor of being the caller for Team Joe, there's nothing more special than being a part of an elk rut hunt for me, so fun! We got this guy's goat when I bugled over the top of his, that's when I knew we hooked him then reeled him right in. Never been to Rimrock before this year, what beautiful rugged country.
I have joes bull at my house for a euro mount
Oh nice, I’ve seen pictures of you on joe and al’s phone before and told them I’ve seen you before on hunt-wa. Small hunting world. That bull had some crazy long brow tines compared to the rest of the tines.

I like the “sigh of relief” look on Gus’ face

That's absolutely what it is! Wasn't sure I was going to find him in that brush.
Congrats on your Bull. I call that look the " Did this really just happen? " look. Wish I had that look more often!!

Love the charter in that rimrock bill. 👍

Oohhh, Mr. Slayer I don’t know what’s going on but I can’t call in a predator to save my life (my real passion) but the elk I have a knack and a bit of luck with.  I didn’t think I would ever get the opportunity to be involved with another rut hunt again but dang was that fun! Again, thanks to Joe, he had enough confidence in me to be on the team. The opportunities are rare and appreciative.

Congrats everyone!

Here's my first archery elk!

Solo hunt at the coast. Called him in to 30 yards, shot my 40 yard pin instead and hit him high  :bash:. He ran to about 90 yards where I watched him stand around for the longest hour and fifteen minutes of my life (first picture). Him and his cows finally fed down the ridge away from me and I was able to sneak to right above him. Found him at 40 yards while peeking through the grass. Drew, stood, made absolutely sure I had the right pin and shot before he got too nervous. Hit him in the lungs but of course he ran into the thickest coast reprod/brush patch he could find. Luckily my co-workers were nearby to help out!

Fantastic write up thank you for sharing! Out of curiosity, how long had you been trying before this success?

13 yr old sons first archery kill. Called her into 19 yards. Son put the smack down on her. She went 30 yards before tipping over. Be living on cloud 9 for awhile.

I love this!  Looks like my sons first elk!  Best elk I ever sank my teeth into!  Congrats to you two!

My last bull was back in 2014 with a rifle. I hunted muzzle loader 2 years after that without killing anything. Started hunting archery last year.

Awesome nice to see so many fill their tags.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
