Late Fawns
« on: September 14, 2018, 08:59:19 AM »
There sure seems to be a lot of late fawns in the Methow this years, many just losing their spots.

In the last two nights I have seen five dead along the road and one in the middle, which I moved to the ditch, couldn't have weighed more than 40 pounds. Should please WDF&Wolves.

I saw what had to be a 20 lb fawn on the side of the road in mid August.  Didn’t see any spots that I can recal but thought it was a large cat or raccoon from afar but nope a little fawn.

I've seen several over her on the westside as well. Tiny little ones.
Some animals WERE harmed in the making of this Hunter. They were also dragged through the dirt, butchered and tasted delicious fried with butter and bacon.

I've noticed several small ones as well.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Tiny for September!  50/50 chance they survive the winter?

My guess is  only one survives, But...?
Two to survive would be pushing the luck I thinks.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
