Best feeder on the market??
« on: September 15, 2018, 01:58:40 PM »
Looking for a feeder or two and want something sturdy and reliable.  A tripod feeder would work well.....I just need it tall enough to keep bears out.  I Also need it sturdy enough that when I concrete the legs in the ground a bear can't break it.  Likely will only run cob or cracked corn in it so the bears usually aren't that interested.  With that said they are very curious animals so they will play with anything.

Also was looking at the capsule game feeder........though the reviews make me nervous.  They either get 5 stars or 1 star.....nothing in between.  Love / Hate relationship.

What do you have and do you like it?  Thanks in advance for any input.

Google "Texas Hunter"

They are not cheap but they are very good and will give many years of service.

If you can swing it get the Hideaway stand and fill. they are great.

I have bought several of their broadcasters and made my own out of 55 gal barrels.

I have a couple Moultrie tripods on my property in eastern Washington.  Stopped using one up higher on the property near the timber as bears always messed with it.  Moved it down lower in a more open field for turkeys and deer use.  Have not had any further bear problems with that type of feeder down lower.

Went to a hanging 30 gallon Moultrie feeder up higher with a pole system I designed.  Pictures below...……...
