Hunting on Public Land question
« on: September 19, 2018, 02:39:01 PM »
Hi I am a new hunter and I am looking forward to hunt next season here in Washington, I know a lot of people say go out of state hunting but I wanna try it here first.
I want to go hunting in GMU 530, that’s near Longview where I am from.

I use the OnX Hunt app, this shows me where Public Land and where Private Land is.
Is Public Land always open to hunt without a special permit or are some areas on Public Land also closed for hunting?

Most public land is open for hunting unless it's State Parks or a National Park.

In GMU 530 the public land will probably be all DNR. (Department of Natural Resources). You'll need to purchase a Discover pass for $30.

Pretty much that. Just make sure that the GMU is open for whatever season/animal/weapon you are intending to hunt, and you're good.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

I second this.
