I did this with 4 smaller white oak logs. Oyster mushrooms and *censored*ake. Did it about a year ago. Still waiting....might take 3 to 5 years as I understand it. I'm hoping to see some activity soon just to confirm that it's working. Good luck dude!

I've found a great many oyster mushrooms on dead cottonwoods down by the river. The trees have been dead for some time, so it may be a problem with how long your logs have been dead.

We did similar with alder and *censored*ake plugs.  It took 3 years to get them going good, but they would produce in the spring and the fall.  We got around 10 years out of them.  Plus we used pieces of the old log to inoculate new logs.  They are fantastic fresh with tenderloin.   :tup:
