Dungeness Boat Launch?
« on: October 04, 2018, 11:44:33 AM »
Anybody have info on the boat launch at Dungeness Landing County Park? Is it tide dependent? I have a 15-ft. tiller Lund. I assume it'll be easier to deal with in my little boat than in most peoples' boats, but the satellite image on google maps doesn't look super promising. Would rather not go down to John Wayne – every few miles count in a small boat and the Dungeness Landing launch would save me quite a bit of time.

there are 2 launches there. the first one you come to is only usable on high tide (dungeoness landing).. DONT back beyond the concrete or you will be to your axles! go to the ramp that is more to the west (cline i think).. sand beach , ez access, poor parking though...

If you use Kline be very careful. The weather can change quick and the water can get big. Also be aware of the no shooting zones.
Good luck

Thanks for the tip!
All I could find on the no shooting zone was on land and in the little bay maybe. If I'm out off the spit in my boat, I can still shoot, correct?

I have hunted at San Juan Farms (Private club at the end of the road...just past launch). They have the land locked up for the most part on the other side of the road from the launch. Not sure how great hunting is off the spit...I have never done it.

Oh, I was talking about shooting into the water. At the halibut I'm going to catch next year.  :mgun2:
Just trying to find areas I think my little boat can go for them, and directly east of the spit seemed like a decent place to avoid giant waves. No clue if there's any fish around there, tho. We'll find out next year, I suppose.
