Wolf Cam

I found 2 of these this last week while I was wandering around. This one was on a back trail where the Wolf manure was almost a pile every 20 feet. 


The tag says WSU/DNR research.

First one was in the Profanity peak area and this one is in the Wedge.

I'm feeling pretty confident that the "fuzz" who monitor this site are aware it's been found.


I really didn't want my prints on it either.


From the amount of wolf crap in the area Mitch is making sure they are fed well.

 I’ve always thought that some kind a official label on my cameras keep people from messing with them, I’m sure those are official I’m just saying it might be a good idea.

I recently listen to Brian Kreston speak about the cougar study the WDFW is doing in NE Wa. and Okanogan. Besides collaring cougars they a saturating areas with  game cameras to try and get a better idea of cougar populations.

They have been doing large carnivore studies in the NE for years.  I'm not sure with all the studies they have that done they have a clue as to the amount of animals in any species. Perhaps their studies are a close depiction of this.

Any body that spends time in the woods can tell you.  When they take a biased opinion into a study the results are predetermined. They discount your personal observations as being biased but can't recognize there own biases. I could take 3 cameras to the woods today and will guaranty that in a 2 week period I will have 2-4 cats on camera.

I know a few spots you might frequent Justy where you could get more than a couple cats..  I saw two last year within a mile or two of each other on separate days.

WDFW would report it as an "Extremely Large tree squirrel or just a coyote". Nothing to see here folks just keep moving.
