Wynoochee, late archery cow tag
« on: November 01, 2018, 11:24:32 AM »
Hey, all.  I hiked into and through the 648 area on the west side of the river and mitigation fields about 4 years ago.   Ton of elk sign, but not easy to get to; we actually hitched a ride with a logger to get there and get out more quickly.   I'm living in the area now up at Bangor and got the Wynoochee late archery permit this year.   Not sure i'll have time to do much recon, so any intel anyone is willing to share on how to get in would be much appreciated.  I'm sure the logging over the years has changed the access points -- and maybe changed access completely.

I would be willing to check in with some farmers on the other side of the river who could use some help.  Unfortunately, the job keeps me hopping and I'm not sure I'll have too much time to knock on doors.

Not looking for you to give me your honey hole.  Just some good intel on getting in/out, if you're willing.  Thanks ahead of time.  Feel free to PM.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage! ... The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.  Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him."  -Psalm 33:12-22

Look to see who owns the land there. Wearhouser owns a lot and you need to buy a permit. All drive in permits are sold out. So you would need to walk in. There's plenty of elk but most have set up on farmers fields behind the signs that say no hunting.
