Knight ultra lite questions
« on: November 02, 2018, 05:26:37 AM »
I've finally had enough with my traditions vortex.  I'm going to replace it with a Knight ultra lite, but I have a couple of questions.

First, I can't decide between a stainless or nitride finished barrel.  Does anyone have personal experience with the nitride barrels?  How's the quality compared to their stainless stuff?  What is the cleaning process with the nitride barrels like?  I've always used hot soapy water for my stainless stuff.  Will that still work or should I move to solvents?

Also, there's not a lot of info on their site explaining the different ignition options.  I want it to be washington legal, use 209 primers, and would like to have it drill and tapped for scope mounts but unless it asks more specific questions later in the ordering process, I'm not sure I can request that.  Any suggestions?

Not sure you can get a muzzy that isn't Wa.legal anymore. Call Knight and talk to them. I bet they will help you out.

I think the ultralight cones drilled and tapped for scopes. My disc extreme did.

I own 2 Ultralites one of which I put a break on.  The gun comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts.  Weaver makes a two piece aluminum that works great when load developing with a scope.  I have the stainless models and use warm soapy water with no problems at all...  The western kit is what I am running but will now switch them over to the 209 system and a completely closed bolt to eliminate any exposure to the elements.  The fiber sights then come with are garbage and really unusable over 100yards, go with a Williams peep set after you get the gun and youll be dialed...
