A lot of good country between Rocky Creek and Meadow Creek that hold moose.  The area behind Meadow Lake had a great bull in it earlier this year.  Get off the roads and hike if possible.

Don't give up! I got mine after hunting for 2 weeks. I got a 5 year old up the Twin Lakes road where it turns into Aspen Creek. (Squaw Creek Branch Road). Go to the end where BLM land starts. I got it in the first clear cut on the left. Right behind my utility trailer I had stashed to bring meat home. How nice huh? There was a cow in the area too. Mine had a antler broken off and measured about 15-18 inches. A 5 year old. People saw moose on Twin Lake road also. Keep hunting until you run into one. Sad the wolf and tick is taking a toll on the Moose as well as the Deer. I hardly ever seen any. Randy

Might try poking around the old Black Canyon burn, coming in from the Northport side. Was up there chasing Grouse a few years back, and on towards evening I saw two of the biggest bulls I have ever seen in Washington square off on a ridge about 100 yards from me. The bigger of the two (about 50"+) pushed the other guy down the hill into the bushes and then stood on the ridge daring him to come back.....quite the sight.

I hate to say it, but sometimes burning fuel is the best way to find them.  The more ground you cover, the better your chances.  A moose can appear nearly anywhere when you least expect it, so keep at it, and good luck!

Tell him not to give up but to refocus. Try something different than he’s been doing. I’m sure he will connect
