Broadheads keep unscrewing in quiver: time to Loctite?
« on: November 07, 2018, 06:45:29 PM »
I'm shooting Wac'Em 4 blades in a Tight Spot 3 arrow quiver. Whenever I hike, (or even transport my bow in its case), the broadheads unscrew themselves from the inserts in my arrows. Major PITA as I either have crazy-sharp blades floating around (best case) or the whole broadhead falls apart and I lose it all together (worst case). I'm careful how I place the broadheads in the quiver--they don't touch and aren't levering on eachother, but still, they always end up loose/unscrewed. I haven't had this problem with the other replaceable-blade broadheads (Muzzy) that I used before.

Has anyone else shooting Wac'Ems has this issue? I'm on my second 4 -pack and keep having the same problem. I have tightened them down nicely, and made sure the beveled metal ring is oriented properly when attaching the broadhead. I'm debating adding a drop of blue loctite to keep them in place, but am worried about damaging the inserts when I need to change broadheads/replace blades. Has anyone put loctite their broadheads before? How much and which color did you use, and did it work out?

try a little wrap of white plumber's tape.
holds my field tips and broadheads securely in the inserts

Another option is string wax. Just rub a little on your threads.
Usually sticky enough to help hold them and wont be a pain to remove them from the arrow later.

Teflon tape
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I'm looking forward to keeping those broadheads in place!
