I have been waiting on the badlands upland, or alps vest x to have a closeout sale.  Leaning towards the Alps due to the layout.

I just saw the Badlands at Sportco in Fife. The color was weird otherwise I would have bought it. What a great setup.
My new dream vest/pack
Lead em if they're running.

I ended up ordering the ll bean vest on sale, its pretty nice. I would have liked to put em all side by side and then picked but oh well. I would change a couple things about the one I ordered, one thing would be a water reservoir pocket. The other thing I don't love is that the shoulder straps could be wider, they touch on either side of my neck, seems like its built for smaller framed people. Nice pack tho!

The ll bean has a water bladder spot. There is a Velcro flap on the piece that goes against your back, right under where the straps connect. Its hidden well.

The hose will go out above the strap on either side, again, it's hidden well.

You will be happy with it. I run a 3L bladder and 2-30oz bottles on mine most of the time. Mine is 5yrs old and a little faded but can't see myself going with any of the others for what they cost.

Great pack!  I concur with Forks!  He gets out a ton and his pack has held up well. I beat the crap out of mine and is fantastic. I also have three Mothertech packs. The Llbean is a near rip off...Jet Jockey might have an opinion on this too.

I run the LL Bean and its a great pack. Hard to beat for the price. I also had the Tenzing BV16 but switched to the LL bean. The tenzing had more storage, but the LL bean fits my style of hunting better.

Pulled the trigger on the Alps yesterday with some Christmas money.  It hadn't showed up on Camofire this past 7 months so I went to blackovis.com and picked one up.  $139, free shipping, and Rokslide10 coupon code saved 10%.  The badlands color and being more expensive made me lean this direction.  Can't wait to get some blood on the new set-up.  I will let you all know what I think after using it a bit.

Received the pack in the mail today.  Here are my initial thoughts after getting it adjusted.  I wish the ammo pouches were a little further forward.  They are further back than I would like.  Sometimes with an O/U I want a fast reload.  My only other concern is birds falling out of the pouch when sliding through fences, or one easily hopping out that might still be alive.  Tough to tell how that will come about until I am in the field.  Everything else is great.  Great storage and great layout without going overboard.

Also Blackovis has a DEC20 code that gets you 20% off a single item.

I use this which is a duck hunting vest and I love it. It's the L.L.Bean Waterfowler Pro Vest Pack I use to design for LLBean hunting and those guys know what they are doing. They are die hard bird hunters and spent in insane amount of time in the field all over.
