Cappers

Just wondering what everyone uses. I'm not impressed by the knight caper or one I got from sportsmans.

I use musket caps, and I really like my knight brass capper.

It came with a lanyard to put around my neck, so it is easy to find.

I have not liked the similar model for #11 caps

The one that I prefer for hunting is of all things a Traditions #11 capper.

This capper really functions well for me... EXCEPT you will probably need to modify the bend of the tip of spring slightly to hold the cap tightly. easily done with a pair of needle nose pliers.

It looks a lot like the Knight but it is different!!!

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

i use a TDC brand capper for my #11s.  it looks similar to the one sabotloader posted, but has a spring on each side of the tip unlike the traditions model in the picture.  i don't think it's ever let a cap fall out in the 4 or 5 years i've owned it.  i had the traditions capper for a while and it would always seem to lose them.

traditions does make a short "field" capper, wish TDC offered one.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

The field capper is the one that I use and I really do like it...

Letting caps out - common problem with the traditions - but easy to fix by bending the black spring steel piece.

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!
