Hmm.  Good points about the weight.  My boy is a bit spindly.

That bow I linked going to amazon had a review that might pertain to you

Yeah, Amazon has that bow listed at 5 lbs., which seems wrong or pertaining to the entire package.



Interesting zero let off design, though.

The bows that the article listed as good youth bows all seemed to come in at 2-3 lbs.

For reference, the Diamond Infinite Edge and the Hoyt Fireshot both come in at about 3 lbs.

Too heavy

Took my girl bow shopping, the mission craze 2 was a bit heavy, she therw her hips into holding it out throwing off form

The bear cruzer lite was only 3.2 lbs, she held it easily, bit spendy at 400 bux rth

Another person recommended the Mathews Genesis, which now seems to go just by the name Genesis.

  as they're learning to shoot, the last thing you want to deal with is weekly tuning sessions! draw length changed, poundage change, sight readjust... get them SHOOTING first! the Genesis is basically recurve with wheels. no letoff. WONDERFUL bow for kids to learn... but I mentioned all that in post #2 

Skip the sights, release, d-loop, blah blah blah, get a Genesis and follow the 11 steps to archery. success in thousands of schools across the country!

My wife is shooting a Diamond Infinite Edge, they are great bows for the price! Hers will be going up for sale here next week as she is stepping up to a new Prime if anyone is interested.

The Genesis is awesome, I even shoot it for fun.  With no letoff, there is no back stop so you don't have to adjust it for draw length.

Well Santa got both of them bear cruiser g2’sboth are shooting 26” at around 36 lbs..seem like good bows to grow with them for a littlewhile

Nice.  My boy, 7 at birthday, draws at 18", and the Genesis mini, at 2#, is 4" shorter and 1.5# lighter than the standard Genesis.  He'll probably start at near the 6# starting draw weight. 

Red is getting my Damon Howatt 26# recurve set up, too, so I can begin with him.  I am pretty excited.
