Bow stored outside
« on: December 17, 2018, 03:29:38 PM »
Curious if there are any downsides to keeping my bow on my back deck? The deck is covered so it would be dry and it would be kept in a padded soft case. I want to be able to shoot a few times per week but only have a few minutes of daylight, if I am lucky so thinking this might get me to shoot more.

Dont see an issue with it. Keep your strings waxed. And check it over, looks for any surface rust on anything not coated.

That is what I was thinking as well. I was just hoping that having it right there for when I get home or before work will entice me to shoot more often.  :archery_smiley:

Why not keep it right inside the door?

Don't really have a good spot for it besides the dining room table.  :o

Probably be ok on the east side.  I wouldn't even attempt it where I live on the ocean.  The salt air is brutal.  Ive had new tools rust within a few weeks even when kept inside the house.

Dining room tables make for excellent storage facilities, as well as work benches!
The wife disagrees though...

I would be more worried about theft....  I would not keep my bow outside for that very reason.  Would you leave $1000-1500 on your back deck??  If the answer is no....then the bow should not be left there either.

I would use the table.....or garage.....before I left it outside on the deck.
