Drew Copalis
« on: March 22, 2009, 07:15:37 AM »
I drew Copalis along with my 11 yr old son. He had 2 points and I had 1. It will be his first spring bear hunt, and our first hunt in this area. He has come along with me before on Capitol Forest and Kapowsin North hunts but we were not successful. We are pretty excited to hunt Copalis, it should be a lot of fun!

Copalis is (was) only $25 last year. It was free the year before.  :bash:

Yeah, I heard it was going up. Wonder how much it will be this year?

Did you hunt Copalis last year BTKR? How good was the access? Local camping? We are eagerly awaiting the paperwork so we can see what the rules are.

As you know, we usually just park our trailer on a dead-end logging road. I am hoping that there is someplace around there to park.

Benjamin is pretty excited about the hunt. Ghost won't be with us this year for the spring hunt but he drew the multi-season elk tag.

Hey Dean PM me, I work for Rayonier, you'll be whackin bears on us and the price is not going up this year.  The permit is 25 bucks, any more than that and we would have to pay insurance on everyone.  There is the option to lease an area for the calendar year; that price is more....if you are interested call the office, or better yet check out our hunting website.....rayonierhunting.com

Yes, I hunted it the last two springs. Did not put in for it this year...and probably won't again. Typically the access was great in most areas and very few people for the most part. Lots of logging, salvage and brushpickers though. We camped in many areas, in many ways and never had a problem. Good luck.
