My son and I went on a Drop Camp hunt with Mills a couple years ago, it was great.
We did not shoot any elk, unfortunately the weather was unseasonably warm in November.
The mule deer were there and we both scored on decent bucks.
Although we were not guided by Tucker or his crew, we were well taken care of.
The tent was solid, the camp set up neatly and cots etc. in great shape.
They are really nice people who run a first class outfit.
We will be going again in the future.

One suggestion, GET IN SHAPE!!
Tucker will get you on game, but you have to be able to close the distance.
This may require a 1/2 mile trek over steep broken ground to get a shot.
Those elk won't sit around waiting for you.

I am sure it wasn't us.
We were in Augusta the last week and a half of November, 2017 and hunted till the end of the month.
Tucker set us up in a drop camp site along the head of Smith Creek, near Elk Pass.
The weather was unseasonably warm with no elk sighted.
The game checker said there was not much action anywhere during that portion of the season.
Apparently the elk moved down in an early storm and never returned to the higher ground when it got warm.
Thanksgiving night was about 62 degrees (Not a mis-type) if I remember correctly.

As I mentioned earlier, we will be going again, great trip, beautiful; country.

As a side note, I think that I called you for a reference in the spring of 2017.
Thanks for the tips and positive recommendation, Tucker and the Mills are great.

Its crazy how fast its coming wishing I would have done better preparing fitness wise lol kept thinking I got time but work and life got in the way lol soooooo I've talked to amy briefly and she says it shouldn't be an issue but have you been following the fire in the wilderness?  Looking at inciweb and cross checking some of the landmarks she talks about it makes me nervous and seems really close to the area we are.... they've gotten over an inch of rain in the last week so its still at 1800 acres but it's making me nervous...

Oh crap, no I haven't been following that wildfire. Being overseas I'm pretty detached from stuff like that haha, but hopefully it doesn't affect your hunt or our hunt, that would be a bummer. I can't remember, but do they refund your hunt if the wildfire affects it?

She says its shouldn't affect us...but when I look at the map it looks scary close to me. I have no idea I know they have a item that states they recommend everyone get travel insurance. So I dunno... we didn't get travel insurance so that could suck.... to stay positive though it should be driving more animals towards our area were hunting so it should be like the best year ever with more animals than ever lol

Fingers crossed it doesn't affect either of our hunts, can't wait to hear about your guys' hunt and hopefully you both are successful. We didn't purchase the travel insurance either lol roll of the dice I suppose. Good luck to you guys and will be checking back for the story
