Cougar Quota.....Blue Mountains
« on: December 29, 2018, 03:40:35 PM »
I find the following info about the current harvest of cougar kinda interesting.

The quota for the GMUs that make up the whole Blue Mt. area added together = 10 to 12 cats.
The total taken as of 12.26.18 was 28.  Most of these were taken during deer season while hunters were hunting deer..not specifically hunting cats.  Only 1 of the 28 was taken while hunting predators.

Cougar season will end in much of E. Wash Monday evening.
I just found one small track today

I will hold my elation until after the 1/3/19 and they do an updated quota.   :sry: If it is a true count I'll bet KF hunter would be one of the happiest folks on here.   :chuckle:

They dont have to wait a week.  They LOVE closing units down.  I think it was last year they updated twice in 1 day because somebody reported a cat after first update.  They absolutely would update and shutdown 121 / 105 tomorrow if the quota is met.  So anybody going out calling in the next 2 days, do it in one of the units that is already set to close on the 1st.

Look now.  Updated dec 31st.  They only went 3 days before updating.  Like i said, theyre quick on the trigger when a quota is reached.
