Methow
« on: January 12, 2019, 07:39:20 PM »
I didn't want to jack the Methow deer thread but on that thread there is a lot of talk about predators and a need for control. My wife(crowinghen) and I have never really hunted east of the mountains just a couple turkey hunts, one with Bearpaw and one with Okanogan Valley. For a change of pace we were thinking of taking a 4 day weekend in Feb. to try coyote hunting on the east side. Kind of looks like the Methow would be a good place to start, would anyone be willing to give us a starting point. Thanks

Well Places like Black canyon, McFarlane, Libby cr. The South fork of gold creek has a snow park so wouldn't go there as snowmobiles would be up there. There is some state land down to 97 across from gold creek that will get you into open terrain of the Chiliwist.

The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Tagging on this one. Wouldn’t mind exploring the area a bit in the off-season and what better way to do it!

Tag. I will be in Winthrop for 3 days mid February. I will take my rifle for a few shots at dogs. Or cats if it’s open
