They need to make stiffer penalties. the $250 tresspassing fine doesn't stop them. They need to revoke hunting privileges and make it at least A $1,000 FINE.

That's funny because the WDFW is running the elk all over the loo-wit wildlife refuge as we speak, and for the next three weeks planting trees and fertilizing. So there concerned about the health where there feeding them at oak creek, but at mt saint Helen's they wont feed them, and there starving and its OK to run them to death there.Maybe there running them off the loo-wit so they wont die on there property. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I have seen them in the past use helicopters to run the elk outta the feeding station, and the think shed hunters are killing the elk? Now that said I dont condone the behavior of some shed hunters but seems to me the wdfw is once again wielding its double edged sword.

I remember about five years ago when there was a big herd hanging in Lt murray and a lot of guys knew about them. The evening before rifle elk opener they went in there with helicopters and scattered the herd. :bash:

its happened time and time again. It really angers me almost more than when I see the white trash shed hunters chaseing them with their four wheelers.

I like the fact that they just assume it's all hunters that are chasing them and going after the sheds :bash:. It seems to me that there as many people that don't hunt that are shed hunters, and from what I've seen they have less respect for the animals than the actual hunter do. It should be harassment of wildlife and have a stiffer fine and community service or some other public punishment. I remember the talk of the game department scattering the herd on the L.T. years ago, it's all bs to me.

It seems to me I was on that one with you.  I can't believe we were dumb enough to hike in there and sleep in the sage brush just above the herd, just to let the herd get scattered from under our feet.  :bash: :bash:

I agree 100%. I also think (and this won't be very popular among some) that they should have a license to hunt sheds. Charge $50 a year and that will eliminate a lot of the "slob" shed hunters. If you're caught without a license you get fined bigtime. :twocents:

I don't think a little exercise will hurt thoese elk :dunno: , Like you said they do feed them. We were over there a couple weeks ago looking at the elk.
