You gotta define slam!  :)

My son did a Washington State big-game-over-the-counter slam a few years ago with a cougar, bull elk, black bear and buck deer in one season.  All stalked or called, no guide nor dogs.

Sheep and goat add the draw factor of pure luck and change the equation too much to be more than a curiosity comparison.

He posted his question in the turkey hunting section...that pretty much defines the type of slam he was asking about 🤷‍♂️

All I need is the Eastern. I got my first Merriam in 2018 and a pile of rios over the years. If I am successful for the Eastern (which is doubtful) I will have done the slam in 3 seasons, 2019, 2018, and 2017.

They have a shiny pin for all in one season or a multiple season pin. Im guessing the multi season pin is for 3 consecutive season. I’m not “actively” pursuing, but if I get a 3-day
weekend, I might go try for the eastern.

I believe you are right, get all three in one season is the slam and then continue to get all three in the next year and next would be the multiple slam.

I got an e-mail from the wdfw the other day about. I read through it again and there is a single season (3 birds, one season) pin and a multiple season (1 sub species per year in 3 seasons???). I could be totally be misinterpreting it. Here’s a screenshot from it.

I think the multi season is hitting the Washington slam more than 2 years(or more) consecutively. That's how I read it anyway.

Multi season slam is taking all three species but during different seasons, i.e. Mirriam's in 2016, Rio in 2018, Eastern in 2019. As far as I've ever seen there is no restriction on how long it takes to put a multi season together. Bear in mind you must submit the paperwork to the NWTF to qualify for the pin. You also become immortalised in the regs pamphlet.

Single Season Award Winners (all 3 subspecies taken in a single season)

Mulple Season Award Winners (all 3 subspecies taken in 2 or more seasons)

That is straight out of the WDFW turkey hunting pamphlet.

Those oscellated turkeys are cool birds. I think you have to go to Guatemala for them.

Gould's would be cool as well.

Oops.  My bad.  I saw the title on the right column list of recent topics and it does not say which section it is in and I replied without checking it further.
