I heard of another island up there too that i guess has zero grizzlys.  I want to say its called Strawberry island

I think you are thinking of Raspberry Island, a smaller island that is just to the south of Afognak. There is bears on that island for certain as there is elk. Seen a handful of bears on that island while flying over it.

I'm going to Kodiak in Dec.
The plan is to kill two sitka bucks and go fishing.
Using Sportsmens lodge for lodging ,meals and transport.
Anyone use them or interested in doing the trip?

You'll be getting pretty close to when they start shedding i think depending on when in december you go.

Last two days of Nov. first four days of Dec. should be ok as far as shedding goes.

Not Kodiak for me but alaskan island near Ketchikan. Double hunt for blacktail and black bear.

Been tossing around the idea of this for 2020. Saw an outfit that has like a 60' boat that is anchored in the bay that is home base and then a skiff is used to get to land to deer hunt, sea duck hunt or fish. Sounds like a blast
