taurus tracker 44 mag
« on: April 01, 2009, 08:48:46 AM »
I have been on the look-out for a small packable 44 for a while now!
The one gun that seems to fit the bill, is the Taurus Tracker as it weighs only 34oz and is about the size of a S&W or Ruger K- frame
Does anyone have any experience with this Gun??

I have the Ti Tracker in 45acp...works fine, 24oz.
There are many Taurus posts on thefiringline.com and Graybeard.com.
Taurus has fans and detracters...I find them fine...not a SW, but not bad either.
It's my beater gun.
Didn't want to take my 686 out and slide down scree on it.

i have a tracker in 45lc and love it.
mine is the titanium model with 6-1/2 inch barrel.
light for packin but still not small, a bit tough for concealed carry but i manage.
besides nothin looks cooler than a big revolver!!!! IMO

I have a Titanium Tracker in a 41mag. It weighs like 24oz.  It's an OK gun.  Wouldn't want to put thousands of rounds through it.  It's great for what I got it for.

I don't think they ever made the Titanium in a 44, but I believe Smith makes one. I thought the SS Tracker in 44 was heavier than 34oz. but I could be way off there.

28.3 oz, that's gotta be fun to shoot, I've got the Taurus .44 mag with a 6.5" bbl ported it's a dream to shoot, but heavy to carry.  I carry it when I am shed hunting in the spring I've had some close encounters with hungry bears.  It's not to bad when it's the only weapon you're carrying, but I carry my Ruger GP100 .357 during season.
