A poor day of fishing is still better than...
« on: April 02, 2019, 07:09:23 PM »
... oh hell it was a good day of fishing!  :)  37" buck. Got a matching 37" hen who wasn't thrilled with the idea of a picture.

Wow, nice fish!
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

You have my sympathies. Definitely looks like you would rather be in the office. It is cold in the river after all.

It was rough, but I'm always up for taking one for the team.

Didn't have to miss a day of work for this one, but I'd gladly have missed a week for it. Pretty sure he bit my stuff but missed him. Buddy drifted his stuff through 10 seconds later and nailed him. Epic fight, worthy of fish this size.

39.5" x 21.5", somewhere between 23-24#.

Oh man.  Steelhead of a lifetime there. Congrats!
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

It was an absolute tank. The 2nd biggest I've laid hands on. The guy that caught him is pretty sure it's the biggest one he's landed. He's a very seasoned angler with a lot of large steelhead under his belt.

Note; we were behind at least 10 boats when we hooked this fish. Just goes to show, you don't need to be number one.
