First time going Turkey hunting near Tonasket, tips welcome!
« on: April 29, 2019, 01:59:07 PM »
Going hunting for the first time this weekend with a couple friends, staying at my Dad's property off Aeneas valley road outside of Tonasket. Have had full flocks of gobblers walk right by us staying at his place before so I know there are birds in the area, but if anyone has any tips or locations to check out to help out a first timer, I'll buy you a beer!

No need for a beer, but thanks!  :)  Get to a high point in the area a good half an hour before sunset and just listen.  If about 15 minutes after sunset you don't hear anything (you'll probably hear gobbles going to roost and sounding off) blow on a crow call or a coyote howler and you should hear some birds going to roost.  Then you'll have a good idea of what areas to try at first light.
