CPWMA, pine mountain ranch questions
« on: May 09, 2019, 03:28:34 PM »
What's the deal with these draws? #s 2236 and 2803. Obviously a hard draw, but is that all it takes? I always assumed they were a pay to hunt situation. Is that right?

Yes and no.  We had someone in our family draw both.  CPWMA is a total joke, my daughter drew the tag, was assigned a day and then they turned around and refused to let her hunt saying they gave the slot to one of the "members" family instead.  Then, the guy asked for pictures of her - kind of a weird thing when a guy asks for underage girls pictures through the internet.  I would stay far away from that whole group.  I complained to WDFW with details, e-mails etc but never heard anything back.

Pine mountain is legit, good people and you will get a chance to hunt it.  It's hard to draw as you mentioned and dependent on migration.

Thanks for the info. The CPWMA thing sounds like its off the list. I emailed them asking for some info a few weeks ago and never heard anything back. If I understand right, they only give you a day to hunt anyway.

That is way creepy and messed up. If they asked for pics of my daughter I wouldn't even think about going there.

I help with a lot of the pine mountain ranch hunts.  Deer hunts there will be bucks on always.  Bull hunt is a different story, before they moved the feed station it would be lights out.  Now it is A matter of timing and weather.

I used to hunt Pine Mountain back in the day. We could see 20 bucks a day. My brother owned land at the end of Slavin rd  and we would jeep as far as we could get and hunt all the way up to the lookout. Good Old Days . I'm sure with proper management the area has some dandy bucks.
