Tough decision on CCW
« on: June 09, 2019, 05:23:12 PM »
Got the ok to pick one up before the new laws go into effect. I was seriously looking at the Sig P365. I know they had some issues but it looks like that's been ironed out. All the shops I have been to have said they cant hardly keep them in stock. I stopped in a shop yesterday and they had a Sig 938 Talo in green that felt absolutely incredible in my hand. And I really liked the color scheme. It gets really good reviews although some people say its pretty snappy. Others say the Hogue grips make a big difference. Heres a link to 1.

https://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/sig-sauer/938-9-agf-ambi-talo-exclusive-p938-9mm-army-green-7rd-/

I looked online and found Hogue makes this for the P365.
https://www.hogueinc.com/grips/handall/beavertail/sig-p365

I'm wondering if I can have the best of both worlds. The capacity etc. of the 365 with the comfort and feel of the 938 by adding the grip to the 365. What are your thoughts on the 2 weapons mentioned and my idea of the 365 with the added Hogue grip. I haven't shot either 1 and don't know of a place to do so. So I'll be going in a bit blind. I'm leaning towards ordering the 365, but dang that 938 felt and looked sweet. Hard to resist the temptation beings I have the ok to walk in and buy it!

I think you should buy the P365, quickly get buyers remorse, and then sell it to me at half price.

Nice moral support/advice there Dan-o.  While you were at you also planned for the future.   :)

I shot the 938 at a range in Bellevue and it felt good and was a bit snappy but nothing out of control. Personally I didn’t like the hogue grips. But that’s a personal preference. Then the 365 came out and felt that in hand and was on the fence like you were. End of story I bought the 365 gen 2 and don’t regret it one bit. If you liked the 938 you’ll like the 365. If you go to Bellevue Indoor Range this Sunday for Father’s Day lane is half off for you and free rentals.

I like my 938 and the thin profile is very concealable. Mine shoots well and snappy is pretty subjective in a 1lb compact 9mm. I have the thin micarta grips and the 7rd mag with the pinky extension and I think that helps the controlability. I’d buy another any day and was looking at the 238 for my wife.

100% 365. I don't like 1911 controls on carry guns, especially little ones. The 365 doesn't need any ad ons, the grip as plenty of texture and its not even that snappy. its smoother shooting than the shield IMO.

Great plan.  I fondled a P365.  Nice design, as slim as a Glock 43, and ten rounds are hard to beat.

I went with Glock43, because it better filled the niche for a lightweight/summer CCP for me.  I have a G26 and other pistols for higher capacity carry.

Just got my wife a 365. I'll probably just keep it for myself in the end and give her my crappy old Hi-Point truck gun. She might leave me over it but as of July 2nd a new wife might be easier to get than a new gun.

Mine has been 24 years and she hasn't killed me yet... Though the arsenic in my tea is starting to give me a little twitch.

Thanks for the welcome

Sig 365 with a TLR-6 light (finally) in a Crossbreed SuperTuck?  Considering going to that from my g43 now that you can put the tlr-6 on and find a holster for it.  At a minimum, consider doing some holster shopping before you decide.   :twocents:

Have you looked at the P320 series of Sigs? they make a lot of sizes and options. Also the 365 is going to have 15 round capacity soon, grip looks really big to me. 320 comes in sub compact/compact/carry/fullsize, etc.

Went down to Gators yesterday and fondled the P365 and P938 for quite awhile. Pretty sure I'm going to order the new P365 with manual safety.

It's a game changer in pocket nines, to be sure.  It was not much of a difference from G26, weight-wise, for me to justify, and so I went with the G43.

You won’t be disappointed if you don’t like it I’ll buy it from you, my wife keeps trying to steal mine and she has a s&w bodyguard 380. Personally I skipped the safety being a lefty it would never be on anyway and the trigger pull is stiff enough to not have to worry about it.
