Bluegills?

When do the bluegills spawn around here? I need some flyrod practice.

With this warm spell we're heading into, it should be pretty darn soon.

Based on when the crappies spawned this year, I'd guess they already have at least started but I haven't had time to get out and check them.

Which flys work well for Bluegill?

Pretty much any black terrestrial pattern. Black being the key. Size 8 or 10 if I recall correctly.

I have had great luck in the past with a red salmon egg pattern.

Used to catch them with poppers as a kid in MN. That was a hoot!

I think they are already spawning. I saw a bluegill sitting on a nest while bass fishing at square lake on kitsap peninsula about 2 weeks ago. 

I have caught lots of bluegill with size 12 or smaller Adams fly, or other flies in white, black, or brown.  My main go-to bluegill setup is a size 12 or 14 plain hook (that would be used for tying an Adams fly) and about a half inch of small live worm or artificial worm. Artificial is cleaner and stays on the hook longer. Live worm is more effective for finicky fish.  I use this setup on fly-rod and angling rods, sometimes with a bobber, sometimes without. Sometimes with a weight 6" above the hook below a bobber for deeper water.  I rig the worm so that it is in a "S" shape on the hook.

they begin spawning as ear;ly as april and will spawn up to 5 times. generally when the water hits 65 ish degrees they get going

That looks like good bass bait

for bluegills around the Olympia area hit either Munn Lake towards Tumwater or Chambers Lake in Lacey.

Those are pumpkinseeds. Still fun to catch, just dont get very big.

Yah I wasn't sure if they were true bluegill, I knew they were sunfish of some type. I don't tend to mess with any warm water scrap fish.
