GMU 454 and GMU 652 late muzzleloader season
« on: November 06, 2019, 09:34:08 AM »
Would appreciate any help with public access to these areas. Have already hunted the East side with no luck. Will be in the Ravensdale area for Thanksgiving and would like to try the west side for the first time. I didn’t expect to go this late in the season but I have a multi season tag and would love to fill it. Thanks in advance

454 is basically all private and suburban....not sure which 652 is but if it's ravensdale like you mentioned your probably close to out of luck,I've found a couple random patches that hunting is allowed near ravensdale (I live near kent I hunt east wa,Idaho and I'm in Packwood now) but never seen elk near them and it's all being built up fast.May not still be huntable
By late the elk are heading toward feeding areas. You might consider going by the black diamond range and asking around a little.
Might wanna check map for DNR land as well, maybe a couple spots.good luck

The 454 in the Ravensdale area has changed a lot over the past 15 years. 15 years ago there wasn't many housing developments, and there was a good amount of DNR land. 15 years later we have a new housing development going up every year and DNR has transferred many of their small parcels to King County (good for habitat but off limits to hunting) to run as a county Natural Area. About the only sizable DNR area left in the area is off of Kanasket Kangley Road, if you hunt there you will be joined by several other hunters.
