Wife drew Observatory Bull tag
« on: June 12, 2019, 11:03:45 PM »
So unlike me me who never draws anything my wife drew an observatory Bull tag. She has never shot a branch antlered bull and I really would love to show her a good hunt, since she is already super excited. I’ve never been into this area and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Never shot a elk when i had it. Try up by frost mountain. Get a dirtbike and you can get back in away from the road.

Get out there and put on some miles learning the area.

People shoot bulls from the game fence to the highest point in that hunting district.  Spend a lot of time scouting and taking advice and don't pass on a bull the first day she would shoot on the last day.

Thanks. I’m gonna try and scout as much as possible, but we have two small kids so I don’t know how much I’ll be able to get her out before season. She is just looking for a decent first branch antlered bull so I’m sure she will shoot the first thing she sees.

Congrats, my wife and I both drew the observatory rifle bull tag. Hopefully we can fill at least one tag.

The elk seem to be scattered a bit this year, meaning in places I dont often see them and not where I usually see them.   Not sure if its wolves moving in or just cause.   Plenty of elk though so you should have a good hunt.  I have a feeling water will be an issue this year so that should way heavy in your plans.  I hope you guys have a good hunt.

I've been noticing that to boneaddict. Elk have moved on to other areas , don't have a clue why. I usually have no problem finding elk. This year is different. Hope your wife has a good hunting experience with or without a tag filled.
