Was wondering if I am doing this right? Am shooting Triple 7 2ff. Measured 100 gr in volume container and then weighted on powder scale. Appr weighed 80 gr on powder scale. So does 80 gr on powder scale equal 100 gr on volume scale?

Not all powders will weigh the same per 100 grains of volume. Even then the weight can change slightly from lot-to-lot. But in theory, and by rule, all the different BP and BP subs should meter about the same with a volume measure.
Do many guys that are really trying to dial in a longer range muzzleloader measure their powder by weight rather than volume.? I am going to try the blackhorn 209 and have a new breech on the way for my cva.

When i measure Blackhorn 209 powder I use my scale and weight it.The only reason I do is because it is so expensive and I don't want to waste any dribbling it into my volume measure. The powder is uniform in size so it is consistent in weight to volume.Once I measure it out I put my charges in "Lanes Tubes" and that is how I carry it hunting or to the range. My charges are 80 to 100 grains by volume in size.
