During coho season, always seems like rain turns off the bite for a couple days. My assumption has always been the rain will move them closer to the river, and then the bite is slow for a couple days until the next batch shows up. Could be that happened with the rain Saturday as well, and things will get better again this week with the nice weather.

we are fishing kings south hood canal as they are coming in for the next month. The Pinks are in full swings and see guys pulling limits off of Hoodsport hatchery from the beach. It will continue to get better.  I bought pinks for canning from a buddy native skok for 1.00 dollar a fish LOL.  No resale value

No dice for us on Saturday off West Point/Meadow Point. Pretty dead in that area overall, very little bait and did not see a fish of note caught. Will be back at it Friday AM under the city skyline! Tight lines all!

I launched out of Don Armeni, its a bit of a trek in my 16' tiller. Out of Shilshole I make that run just not this time.

All I could find this morning in the newly re-opened Area 9 was a couple pinks.

talked to a guy back at the launch who hit the bar this morning, said he dropped a plug down to the dirt on the horseshoe first light and within 2 min had a 15 lb keeper.

I considered squeezing my boat into the fleet there but opted to fish where there were less boats (and less kings as it turned out).

I pulled in there on the first opener and a guy yanked a nice 15+ right next to me.  I pulled 2 within 10 minutes but both were small.  It's a great place unless it's crowded and you have some guys just trolling around randomly which destroys the spot if you want to really fish it and follow the contours.

i usually avoid it for that reason, but that's also why i usually avoid weekends if i can.
