Shotgun sizing for my wife

I took my wife shooting back east and she fell in love with the Beretta A400. They sized her at the club we were guests at and i think she used an 11 1/2 inch stock. Shes a short lady and i want to make sure a gun I spend that much $ on will fit her. Is there a reputable store anywhere in the state you guys or gals could recommend I take her and we double check her size? I doubt the box stores would have anyone that knew what i meant. Thanks

I would look for a Remington 1100/11-87 youth/women's model or find a good 110/110-87 and get a youth stock for it. The Beretta A400 is a good gun, also look at a AL391. Beretta 391 (12ga & 20ga) served me well in 5 years of sporting clays. I personally would stay away form inertia driven guns like Benelli/Franchi they recoil too much for me.

Thank you. She liked the A400 when we went trap shooting. She did 11 of the 16 stations before it started bothering her. She finished the whole course. She doesnt shoot much, but i think shed shoot more if she had a gun that fit. Appreciate your suggestions

I'm not sue what the 11 0f 16 means, trap and skeet are sets of 25. Sporting Clays are either 50 or 100 targets. But the main thing is fit have her try different guns and see what feels the best. I'm in Tacoma area if you need assistance I'm an NRA certified instructor with over 100K + targets under my belt.

It was sporting clays. They had stations that changed every couple weeks so people going there all the time wouldnt have the course memorized. It must have been 50 total. I think most of the 16 had 3 scenarios. It was a large course we drove golf carts around. My nephew beat all of us. Kid can shoot. Thanks for the offer. Im out of town for awhile. Most of today’s better shotguns have adjustable LOP and cast.  That said they start with LOP around 14”; to get all the way down to 11 ½” is probably going to require a custom stock or custom stock work.  Your best bet is to find a good gunsmith that does this type of work.  Gun stores or box stores are not going to be of any help.
