Take HWY 18 from I 90 towards Tiger Mt State Forest. Before you get there, you'll see gates left and right. You can hunt the left ones with any weapons, but I think the right side where they have mountain biking trails, you can only do archery.

There are a lot better places to start than tiger Mt/Hwy 18 for elk.
