Puyallup unit help?
« on: August 17, 2019, 07:51:53 AM »
My 17 year old son drew a late season antlerless elk tag for the Puyallup unit and I am just reaching out to see if anyone knows of  landowners in the area with elk damage we can contact. I have two areas to access right by our home but I would like to secure a couple more before the season. I fully understand the amount of private land in the unit and i am willing to perform labor etc. for access. My son and I both are respectful stewards of the land and hunt smart. Please PM me if you have any ideas-thank you!

Get up on packforest or menke timber. Or contact carl anderson or shane barbour they have private land hunts for $1000 on cows. Good luck getting access, they have most the good private land leased.

Pack forest is in the Mashel unit.

Sorry thought it was west of 7 and not the mashel. I hunt archery so early season that boundary doesnt matter much. Should have looked first.

Shane B. Last I saw that name on here it ummm wasn’t to hot of a topic for him  :chuckle: as far as the unit goes TONS of private. Try knocking on doors I guess a little late but never know. Good luck with filling the tag.

Had to look up what unit number that is...turns out that I live in the unit.

Have you researched hunting on base? There is public access.

If you were serious who is Carl Anderson?

Wont vouch for either outfitter since i have no experience with either. But carl anderson " elk junction outfitters" and the notorious "shane" have most the good private land on lease and offer resonable cow hunts.

Hit up some of the farms off 112th st around Mundy loss rd. Also the area off Entwhistle rd You would be surprised who will let you in . Especially a kid. The gas line holds a bunch of elk and those farms all butt up to it say a great bull yesterday off 262 st with about 20 cows

Try calling the game department. Had a friend of mine who called and talked with the biologist out there and he got them set up on a property that was having damage problems. Ended up taking a nice cow. Good luck
