You'll probably have better luck coming in from the mattawa side. There are a few deer around the hatchery, but they're very nocturnal and everything up the road from there gets enough traffic that I don't see many. Maybe 2 or 3 a year while I'm out bird hunting or fishing.

It's also a pretty tough hunt with the short range stuff they make you use. No rifles allowed on the federal ground.
