Opening Weekend

Anybody sent an arrow through anything yet? I didnt buy a WA deer tag but was out glassing and hiking this morning north of Chelan. Good luck to everybody.

I was supposed to get the first 10 days to hunt, but my work schedule changed.  Got to hunt the first 4 hours of daylight today, and thats it for me until the late season. Pretty bummed, but at least i still get november and december off.  Hoping to get a few days of modern elk hunting in, probably will.  All of late archery deer is in the bank though.

Of all the blacktails I'm seeing, all are out of velvet already.  Seems a little bit earlier than usual.  I've been seeing a big forky and a few spikes, so maybe the big guys are still covered.

The buck is a 3 on one side and a 2 point with eye guard on the other. (Hard to tell from these specifics pics) i was taking a picture of the camera
