If you’re responding to me... that’s not what I asked.

Two bugles so far in SW Washington.

Spikes are still with the cows. The bigger bulls I have seen are solo and have no velvet.

It is almost time  :IBCOOL:

:yeah:
And every year we get the same posts about an early rut for deer and elk.   :chuckle:

While I agree that the rut is the same general time every year, there is most definitely different levels of activity on any given day. I took the post as inquiring about that  :dunno:

Whats your point? That people shouldnt discuss what they are hearing/seeing in the woods regarding the rut?

I heard 5 different bulls bugle on the Oregon coast last weekend, but it was a bit early. I think this weekend should be the typical stall before the actual good rut activity starts. The weekend following that should be great. My hunting partner, and i have killed 35 plus elk between the 15th, and the 23rd

So far not hearing any bugling in central cascades, few groups of cows by themselves and had two 5 point bulls cruise by this morning together. No bugling. Although they were hard answered and one beat up a tree pretty good
