CVA Accura Peep sight
« on: September 05, 2019, 06:06:38 PM »
Has anyone put a peep sight and Lyman front globe on a CVA Accura? Hoping to get some insight on exactly what I need and how it worked. Thanks!

There’s a “how to” on gohunt.com you need a rear peep, I went with the “ace in the hole” which is a integrated rail peep, then you need a front ramp with a dovetail for the Lyman front globe to slide in, then a Lee Shaver sight card (it’s a collection of sight options that fit in the Lyman globe) the problem that a lot of people have is the Lyman doesn’t fit right in the ramp and homemade shins are required. Another issue is the availability of the parts. I had to buy each part from a different vendor. Brownells, midway, Natchez...I think? The gohunt article has the part numbers and ordering info. I searched and searched for a one piece front ramp/globe but couldn’t find one. Hope that helps, it’s a good option but not perfect, much more precise that factory sight.

Just put mine on tonight.....had to put a slight bend in ramp for the globe to fit tight.....I can tell it will nice at the range and bright times, but dont know if I will like it in the dark timber with my aging eyes ....

I painted my crosshairs with GlowOn gunsight paint. Works well for me in low light conditions. I just charge it with my headlamp for a bit to get it to glow before I start hunting.

I just put this same setup on the new accura LR in .45 cal. No issues on the front end. Had to shim the peep and get longer screws. Get the .1 front ramp, lowest you can. Also make sure your lee shaver card has the same size inserts that your globe takes
