Mudflow Access (Cow Muzzleloader Permit)

I was hoping for a little help.  My son got drawn for the cow muzzleloader permit.  We have been scouting there via the walk in from the 3100 road (2000 elevation feet marker).  We wanted to bring my son's grandpa in with us (lifelong hunter), but we don't think he can make the walk in and out on the road.  Is there any other access points into the GMU that wont require a 2 mile walk?

Also any tips for getting my son his elk would be appreciated.

The 3000 line on the other side of the valley...there are a few spur roads that go into the Mudflow. Very thick, which is good for muzzy hunting but also depressing when you see elk trails everywhere but don't spot the elk!

Should be a couple of 1-2 day hunts.

As said previously, the 3000 line on the other side of the valley has lots of road access. Also, on the highway side, you can park about 3/4 mile short of the 3100 gate and hop up and over the embankment. That only makes the hike to the valley floor about a mile.
