Cva customer service?
« on: October 07, 2019, 10:44:59 AM »
Let me begin by stating I've been extremely happy with my cva elkhorn I bought 12 or so yrs ago.  So saved up and bought a cva Acura v2 for xmas last year. Had trouble at the range getting the right load down and sighting it in. Not to happy. The elkhorn was no problem shot great right out of the box. So on my first hunt with the v2 I blow my chance on the largest mule deer I would've ever harvested in Washington.  Not because my own errors but a problem with the weapon. The rear sight had fallen off. Thought it was gone but found it when cleaning  out the truck. I will b contacting cva here shortly. I've been to upset to write or call yet. Unfortunately this was a mature mule deer at 65 yds.Huge body on him.... hopefully hes still there next year...  I'll give updates...

I would suggest to you that as of the last few years I really think CVA Tech have worked very well solving problems!

Let them know you had a problem!
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

any time you hunt with something that screws down, its wise it remove it, clean it and loctite it into place. I even loctite my dovetailed sights as an extra precaution.

Yea md54 I get it. But should someone expect the tranny to go out on a brand new vehicle.  Or the blade not to b sharp on a new lawn mower? I spent I good deal of $ to me, and did not get what I expected. As I stated I own 2 elkhorns problem free for 12 yrs... that's with young boys carrying them alot of times. That is above and beyond what I expected from those weapons... I'll need to b more vigilant going forward

its a rifle, go through it and make sure everything is in order. You dont really buy a pre scoped rifle and actually believe the factory installed it correctly do you? Its open sights. Its crucial for the owner to check them often for tightness.

In the 12 years with your elkhorn, did you ever check the screws for tightness on the sights?
