Never too early to tickle some antlers together from Oct 10th onward. Not saying it's ideal, but you never know. I got a whiff of a stinky buck yesterday with wind coming off a hill but never put eyes on him.

Good answer.  You should never be surprised if a buck comes in to rattling.  Similarly, you should never be surprised that they didn't.  Think of it a a tool in your box.  Worth a try.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I saw a great BT yesterday morning with a doe and fawn. Couldn't shoot, too fsr. He split off from them pretty quick, but I know where I'll be looking on Saturday morning. Been hearing from others that they been seeing bucks  having does already.

Rattling can work anytime!  Hell, I rattled up a buck during late archery (end of December) with tapping my arrow on my riser.   :chuckle:

Big mule deer this morning with a puffy throat, lip curled, and chasing around a couple does. I told my dad he’d better shoot him as that bucks gotta have a brain tumor or something. It’s been late November weather so maybe he was a bit confused
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short.

Amen
