Thats a funny story, I wonder why he had his friends get out with him too though. I imagine he will reconsider his actions going forward though haha

He had his friends there because when you want to try to intimidate somebody and act like a tough guy, but youre really a cowardly pansy, you cant be the tough guy by yourself so you need your boys with you.

Exactly my thoughts, with any luck hes reading this thread  :hello:

I think it's safe to say he just never saw this coming and had absolutely nothing ready regarding a "Plan B".
I'm sure once he was down the road a ways he told his backup "He's just luck I didn't kick his ..."

Finally got a phone call, then got chewed out. He said I "stole" the camera from him and would call the cops on me unless I hand delivered it; Fair enough.  He agreed to meet me at Brenda's Market at 7pm by the U-Haul trucks.  So far so good.

I showed up just a little late on purpose and rolled up in my fully marked patrol vehicle, blocking him in and walked over with the camera in hand and said "do you still want to report a theft?"  After picking up his jaw from the dirt, he explained he had permission from his "buddy" to hunt the land next to mine and did not realize he had crossed over to my land.  I asked him if his buddy's last name was Weyerhaeuser since that's the land that borders mine.  He sort of ran out of ideas at that point.  His two friends that got out of his truck when I rolled up with my headlights on seemed to loose interest in the whole affair and went inside the market while him and I had a polite but firm conversation about respecting land owners rights.  I wonder why they came along in the first place?

Wish I had a body cam on. You could hear the steam leaking out of his ego.

Wow!   Best story ever....from the way you left the message for him to the final twist!
LMAO...was he a west sider??  :chuckle:

He is, but not from a major city.  I saw where he got arrested for driving suspended last month; Oopsie!

For stopping trespassers  dig some 18 inch deep by 18 inch diameter holes get some scrap dowels cut them 18 inches long sharpen points on both ends, drive one end of 8 Spokes into the sides of the hole with pointed end pointing down, cover with a piece of plastic and them cover that with duff.
Make a bunch of these signs where the most trespass traffic occurs.

Yeah, NOT!
Setting a man trap can end up causing all sorts of jail time and civil lawsuits.
I'm not going to do something that puts me in with my past "customers".
