Honestly kinda curious how many people notice don't want to spill the beans yet. Corey does miss a bull I will say that.

All you have to do is read his comment below the video. Honest mistake and he owns it.

Totally agree with you. I didn't read the comments. I noticed it while watching. I thought the horns looked different that's why I rewatched it. Just surprised me they didn't notice it during editing.

Just rewatched that section of episode 25. That's as fluky as it gets. In the heat of the moment that is definitely an honest mistake. The 2nd bull even walks out at a similar pace of the 1st bull walking in. Both are of similar size. You never see 2 elk until one is dead and one is walking away. The one walking away in no way acts like it is injured. They all act like it is a new 2nd bull appearing and try to get on it. I can't find fault in what happened.

I was wondering if that was a different Elk that Donnie shot. What was that caliber Corey was shooting? 277 something? Weird rifle too, ar15 lower with bolt action upper?

Corey's rifle is a 6.5 creedmoor Sig that isn't available til next year. He said they were the first to use it in the field.

Watched it again, first bull stats into the yes and gets shot, at same time you can see something moving in the trees to the right, then what looks like a non injured bull walks out into opening on the right of trees and Donnie shoots it. Donnie first shot definitely connected with the bull, hind legs dropped, then camera cuts away to the reload. Looks fishy to me.

I would have had 2 round into the bull by the time Cory was even ready to shoot. What's with all the fiddling with the pack and handing rifle off to Donnie, (getting bullets out of pack)?

That's the one he or sig gave to Anthony, I thought he had a different one in another video.

The videos were shown out of order. It's the same rifle I believe. But I'm not going back to verify lol

I think it was a 277 fury, being introduced by Sig in near future.
Link to info. https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/277-fury.232263/?utm_content=iss326&utm_campaign=ed1369&utm_source=threadloom&utm_medium=email#post-1782763

He did use it, episode 22 @ 9:38 when he and Donnie are going to hike over and check tracks in Montana.

Looks like he had a real positive experience with his BDX system :sry:  I've set up two BDX systems for friends and I definitely won't ever be buying one.

Karl,  What are the things you don't like about the BDX system?

Do tell, I've been interested in the system and considering buying.

Glass is really terrible. Reticle is SUPER thick. Reticle is just a duplex so no windage markings. A "long range" scope with no way to hold for wind is useless in my opinion. Biggest issue is they wouldnt consistently link. When they did, they would hit good but I experienced about a 30% failure rate on giving you an aim point. Also they are illegal in Idaho as of the 2019 season. I think they cut too many corners to release these things at a competitive price point. I'm a sig fan and my kilo2400 is the best money I have ever spent on gear but the BDX system really misses the mark  :twocents:

Thanks. Maybe I'll just get a non bdx rangefinder instead of the system. That's mainly what I was looking for (second rf) to be honest.
