«
on:
December 27, 2019, 07:11:53 PM »
Im trying to deer hunt with a buddy who lives in Oregon. Am I understanding right that in order to apply for the draw I have to buy a license? That could get spendy if thats right!

Yes.

Step 3: Get a hunting license.
To apply, you must first purchase an annual hunting license. You can purchase the hunting license at the same time you apply for a controlled hunt. You can buy a license and apply online, at a license sales agent, and at ODFW offices that sell licenses.

Buy a bear tag while you're at it and really it isn't that expensive. Non resident deer and elk tags are spendy I noticed.
I've been looking at the regs pretty hard as well since I more than likely be moving to John Day in the spring.

Thanks Bob. Was hoping someone would have a loophole somewhere
Naches, yeah that may be what I do. Would like to put in group with my buddy and hopefully draw deer, sounds like its a 50 50 chance
